£1,000 - £1,200
A Majestic Late Victorian Cloisonné French Four Glass Mantle Clock with Mercury Pendulum.
A multi-coloured marble base is joined by four brass and cloisonné columns. The gilded cloisonné dial hides a wonderful, clean French movement. Two original keys are supplied: The larger wind key and the smaller pendulum key. The top has celadon marble and cloisonné decoration with a decorative fennel at the apex. I cannot stress the wonderful condition of this timepiece - except for one small chip of marble near the top. Interesting provenance - This clock was presented to Charles Ward on his 50th Birthday from his brethren at Kings Lynn Philanthropic Masonic Lodge in 1906. Kings Lynn lodge (no 107) was one of the earliest lodges in the UK. Base - 20cm width. 16cm depth. 42cm height.
