A MID 15TH CENTURY PAIR OF LIMESTONE BEAKED GROTESQUES, ENGLISH, CIRCA 1400-1450. Carved in high relief as beaked creatures with humorous laughing faces. Having heavily cowled eyes, grossly exaggerated beaks and wide grinning toothed mouths. Originally corner corbel blocks, 21cm high 30cm wide 40cm deep.
