A 19th century Italian micro mosaic brooch, the oval brooch depicting The Colosseum, Rome, encompassed by a yellow metal mount with rope twist detail, hinge pin to reverse with cross keys stamp, 5cm wide, 19gms
Minor areas of loss seen to the micro mosaic, seen with x10 loupe.
Residue seen to the mosaic, possibly would benefit from a clean.
High relief areas of the black border shows nibbles.
Yellow metal mount with scratches, scuffs and surface blemishes, commensurate with being worn.
Hinge pin is loose, and a possible later replacement.
Cross key stamp is worn.
Pendant bale/safety chain loop is later applied and there is evidence of lead solder.
