A LATE 19TH CENTURY CONTINENTAL SILVER, ENAMEL AND PORCELAIN SNUFF BOX OF OVAL FORM, the hinged cover set with a border of seed pearls surrounding a porcelain panel painted after Raphael with Madonna Della Sedia, rope twist rim, gilt interior, the inner rim of the base, stamped twice with a swan within an oval, the lower half with blue, white and red enamelled decoration, width 6.7cm x depth 5.2cm x height 2.5cm, 116.8 grams (Condition Report: seed pearls are not in the best condition, one is drilled and all are generally dirty, there is an old crack in the porcelain panel in the area of the Madonna's sleeve and shawl and either a hairline or scratch between the two heads, the enamel is in overall good condition with two small chips to the underside)
