A 19TH CENTURY FRENCH OR BELGIAN GILT HILTED SWORD AND SCABBARD. With a 90cm pipe-backed decorated blade marked in a scroll against a foliate background, 'Pour Le Roi 'A' Et La Patrie' the A crowned, perhaps for King Albert. The blade marked with a knight's helmet. With a decorative gilt four bar guard with cast foliage throughout, the black grip wire bound, with conforming pommel. With a steel scabbard with single ring suspension. With a distressed sword knot. 107cm overall *Condition: Dents to scabbard, rubbing to blade, some wire binding lacking and sword knot distressed. Previous owners accession number.
