Star Lot: A fabulous antique original watercolour on paper painting titled "Near Utrecht, Holland" by the Dutch artist Jan Van Couver (Hermanus Koekkoek) (1836-1909). Features a masterfully rendered scene of the canal near the titular site, in bright colours. A canal boat in a deep green-blue is the highlight in the foreground, with the high gabled traditionally Dutch building flanking the water either side. Signed bottom right. Couver does excellently at auction, with a sale in Bonhoms estimated between £2000-£4000.
