From The Estate Of Bill Owen (1914-1999) - Luther (1961 play by John Osborne) - Owen's original production used script for the original West End run, which saw him star alongside Albert Finney, Julian Glover, Charles Kay, Peter Bull and many others. The script housed in it's original grey card covers, and comes profusely annotated by Owen who played 'Hans'. The script has been autographed by the entire cast to the first few pages, often with lengthy dedications to Owen. Autographs including: 'Many thanks Bill Albert Finney,' 'He'll argue about anything, especially if he doesn't know what he's talking about - Peter' (Dugoid), 'I'm too excited to say anything really, but all the best - love Charlie Kay,' 'Great pleasure knowing you - keep your bowels open! Frank Davies,' and others. The script was later gifted to Owen's son Tom, and has been inscribed to the front cover 'To my dear Tom... love Dad.' Unique item from Bill Owen's estate. 

Luther is a 1961 play by John Osborne depicting the life of Martin Luther, one of the foremost instigators of the Protestant Reformation. Albert Finney created the role of Luther, which he performed with the English Stage Company at the Theatre Royal, Nottingham  the Théâtre Sarah Bernhardt, Paris, the Holland Festival, the Royal Court Theatre, London, the Phoenix Theatre, London, and the St. James Theatre, New York. The original West End run at the Phoenix ended in March 1962, after 239 performances. Luther won the Tony Award for Best Play in 1964.
