with turned-spokes, brass hub, outer rim with brass plates with black lettering inscribed BELLE / 1874 -- 24in. (61cm.) diameter



Belle was a seven ton (Thames measurement) 40-foot screw-driven steam launch built by Dickinson of Birkenhead with an 8hp engine by Lanceley. Built for a Mr T. H. Dixon, her home port was Chester.
