A superb full set of 36 solid heavy silver vintage Automobile Car Ingots, by John Pinches, complete with its original case. Produced in c. 1976 to commemorate the famous Beaulieu National Motor Museum's collection and history of vintage automobiles, as well as of course the fine English, German, French and other early motor cars of the day. Each silver ingot superbly depicts a portrait view of a different, classic early automobile in raised relief, with rich, vibrant and detailed toolwork and craftmanship, and features such renowned and prestigious early automobile manufacturers as Ford and Fiat, Morris-Cowley and Austin, Sunbeam and Bugatti, Bentley and Rolls-Royce, with dates ranging from the 19th Century Victorian times to the classic vintage marques of the 1930s. Both the name and manufacturer of each automobile are shown to the obverse of each, and the medals also carry the full name, year and specification of each model to the reverse, within marvellous Beaulieu Motor Museum border and heading, for example; THE NATIONAL MOTOR MUSEUM AT BEAULIEU - Austin Seven 1923. 7HP; 4. cyl. s.v. 56 x 76 mm. 747cc. 3-speed; 4 seat Tourer. Austin Motor Co., each approximately weighing 65 grams (over 2 ozt). This scarce vintage Beaulieu Automobile Ingot set is in overall very good order for its age, the ingots or medals sound and complete with no splits complte with its wooden case, with display velvet type lined interior. The case and inserts are complete and sound, with the original base lining and locks operational.
The full cased Set of 36 ingots measures just over 16 inches long, each Silver Ingot measuring just over 2 inches long and approximately 5 mm deep, and each medal carries the quality maker's hallmark of JP (John Pinches) to the upper rim. This set would make the perfect gift for any car enthusiast.
