A lovely limited edition (20/80) vintage etching by Dutch artist Suze de Lint (1878-1953). Features a country cottage in forested landscape in a wonderfully vertical composition. Hand signed and numbered by artist. Artist obituary on verso and housed in vintage frame. Mm: 35 x 48 cm
De Lint moved to The Hague in 1902, where she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts. She was taught by, among others, Johannes Josephus Aarts and Eduard August Becht. In 1909 she studied in Paris for a year, after which she returned to The Hague. De Lint painted, drew and etched flower still lifes, landscapes and mushrooms. She was a member of the Pulchri Studio and the Haagse Kunstkring and exhibited several times, including during De Vrouw 1813-1913. She taught Justus van Beusekom and Lydia Hoeffelman. De Lint is considered an expert in the field of mycology; she made a study of mushrooms, gave courses in this field and became consul of South Holland of the Dutch Mycological Society.
