A Victorian Police Inspectors Short Sword in Original scabbard. Broad, curved blade and Brass Hilt. Markings on blade of V.I. C. 80 Many officers retired from the military and quickly rose through the police ranks, formal dress with sword was standard at the time 1829-1839 after then it was withdrawn from service. 68cm total length.
