A substantial rosewood and marquetry inlaid aneroid barometer: the round silvered dial engraved with usual barometer markings and signed T. Armstrong & Bro., 88 & 90 Deansgate, Manchester, with a blued hand and brass marker, with a thermometer with curled mercury tube set within the trunk and having fluted columns either side, the urn shaped case engraved with marquetry inlay decorated with female figures holding a parasol and a tennis racket heightened in ivory and with a further cornucopia of flowers to the base, surmounted by a swan-neck pediment with cast-brass finial, height 95cm.
