A WW1 1 July 1916 Casualty Medal pair comprising British War Medal and Victory Medal awarded to G/12597 L/Cpl William Blake, 2nd Bn Middlesex Regiment (formerly 5270, Pay Corps), killed in action near Ovilliers on the 1st day of the Battle of the Somme. The pair - and a photograph and biography - are presented framed and glazed and are accompanied by a sheaf of supporting paperwork (including his detention at Woolwich for an unspecified offence)
