A selection of banded carnelian and other agate jewellery comprised of 11 pendants including two green banded agate examples, a bead necklace, four brooches including a circular blue banded agate example, a ring and a pair of drop earrings.
We are pleased to be offering this lot from the stock of family run firm Shipton and Co., who were based in Hastings White Rock area, and who were unfortunately forced to close their doors in 2014 after a section of the rock face above collapsed onto their shop, making the building unsafe. With it's striking contrasting layers banded agate is not only a beautiful stone used since ancient times and in many cultures for jewellery and ornamental purposes, it is also considered by certain healers as a great stone for promoting well being in the mind, body and spirit and is used to encourage security and moral stability as well as being an organizing, soothing, and grounding stone.
