An officer's 1843-47 pattern gilt helmet of the 1st (King's) Dragoon Guards, plain skull with edge binding to front and back peaks, ornamental comb the side panels embossed with foliage, black hair falling plume with "shaving brush" plume in front, rayed helmet plate bearing Royal Arms with supporters and motto, and large scroll "Waterloo" below, ear to ear band embossed with title "1st or the King's Dragoon Guards", large ear rosettes and graduated scallop linked chinscales, leather lining.
