Imperial Russian Marines Crimean War helmet plate circa 1854-56. Good scarce example. Large brass Imperial double headed eagle superimposed on crossed anchors resting on Amazon shield. St. George and the Dragon shield to eagle breast. Applied shield bearing numerals now absent. Three of the original four wire loops to reverse still present, although now bent. Heavy age patina otherwise generally GC.
