A late Vic officer’s sword of the 5th (Princess Charlotte of Wales’s) Dragoon Guards, very slightly curved, fullered blade 35”, by Wilkinson, no 36391 (for 1899) on backstrap, etched on one side with crowned R Arms and wreath in scrolled panels, and on the other with regimental badge, 10 battle honour scrolls “Blenheim” to “Balaclava” and officers monogram “NJ” in panels, pierced honeysuckle pattern plated guard, chequered pommel and backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, in its steel scabbard with 2 rings. GC, the blade and hilt retaining some original finish (scabbard tarnished and slightly dented). Plate 5 £250-400
