Late 19th century Swiss music box by Lecoultre Freres of Geneva, 8 inch brass cylinder playing six airs, stamped 44386A, AP&Co

More Information

From above, no teeth are obviously damaged or missing the tips. Approximately half, the left hand side, have tips that appear to be curved over in loop, whereas those on the right side are straight tips. The brass has noticeable tarnishing, and there is significant oil residue.

When the flywheel was nudged it started turning and played for a short amount of time, but the flywheel turned at uneven speed and then stopped. The levers feel somewhat stiff.

The box itself has wear to the finish, signs of age and use, no significant losses.
