Rare 1930 British & I Lions Official Suitcase & Literature, Menus etc. on Outgoing Sea Journey (Qty): How rare is this? Large leather-style reinforced rectangular suitcase, complete with hugely evocative partly-worn hotel and shipping stickers and official oval (once!) British Rugby Football Team sticker. Just as you would imagine and hope it would look! Internal straps, good strong condition but handle has had to have emergency repairs. Comes with fascinating sea journey literature: NZ Shipping Co. Rangitata Passenger List booklet signed by Gordon and picture of ship; lovely foldout birds-eye map of the Panama Canal; two copies of a seemingly very entertaining on-deck 'Jockey Club Race Meeting' programme and assorted pictures of the ship, with some duplication; and a later (1875-1940) h/b History of the Union Steamship Co of NZ.
