Irish Royal Meath Regiment Militia Victorian Officer waist belt clasp circa 1856-81. Fine rare silver-plated interlocking example with matching bench marks to each half. Circlet inscribed ROYAL MEATH MILITIA; seeded centre mounted with shamrock in relief ornamented with small shamrock sprays. Universal pattern rococo ends. Headquarters at Limerick, became 5th Bn.
