1918 error dated 1917 Pattern Remington bayonet and scabbard, ricasso marked 1918 over Remington in circle, other side eagle's head/13, flaming grenade/U.S., blade with minor discolouration spots, no edge knicks, light rust to pommel and crossguard, generally good very fine, leather scabbard nearly torn in 2, missing throat and locket. Remington used the manufacture date 1918 in place of the pattern designation in error. The bayonet should be marked "1917" as opposed to "1918". This error was soon rectified and 1918 stamped 1917 Pattern bayonets are scarce. BUYER MUST COLLECT OR ARRANGE OWN COURIER. (B)
