WW1 British War Medal, Victory Medal, Defence Medal Groups. First trio awarded to 6305 PTE F SOLE MIDD'X R. & 536040 SPR W.A. MAYHEW RE. Both confirmed awarded the WW1 pair only. With a quantity of research. (2 Groups) Private Frederick West enlisted into the 11th Bn Middlesex Regiment February 1916. Landing in France on the 1st November he was wounded whilst attached to the Royal Fusiliers on the 8th June 1917. During WW2 he served with the Reserve Emergency Services. Sapper William Arthur Mayhew a native of Lewes Sussex, he enlisted in October 1914 into the Sussex Territorial Royal Engineers. Held back on Home Establishment it would not be until the 18th September 1918 that he landed in France.
