A scarce WWI period original Egg Collection for the Wounded Controller gilt metal and white enamel badge with makers mark for Vaughtons Ltd and numbered '867', The National Egg Collection was a national scheme started in the First World War to supply the scarce and much needed fresh eggs to the wounded soldiers and sailors recovering and local war hospitals, 33mm high.
