A buyer’s premium of 24% will be added to the hammer price of all lots sold

The highest bidder shall be the buyer. In the event of any dispute, the Auctioneer’s decision shall be final.

The Auctioneer shall have absolute discretion to withdraw, alter or combine with any other lot all lots offered for sale.

Pictures containing glass in frames, if damaged during viewing time, costs of replacement/restoration will be given to the person responsible.

Whilst every care is taken in the preparation of catalogues, the Auctioneers accept no responsibility for any inaccuracies contained therein.

Lots shall be held to be at the buyer’s risk from the fall of the hammer.

Buyers will be required to supply to the Auctioneers their names and addresses and, if required, a deposit immediately after the fall of the hammer.

Whilst we seek to describe lots accurately, it may be impractical for us to carry out exhaustive due diligence on each lot. Prospective buyers are given ample opportunities to view and inspect before any sale and they (and any independent experts on their behalf) must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of any description applied to a lot.

We shall have the right at our discretion, to refuse admission to our premises or attendance at our auctions by any person.

No lot shall be removed until the purchaser has paid in full for it and for any other lots purchased. All purchases must be removed at the buyer’s risk and expense within three working days following the sale. A charge up to £50.00 per lot per day will be made for purchases not removed within this period.( depends on size ) from £5 - £50

Items must be removed from the Auction House within 3 working days of the sale

Payment is accepted at the saleroom when the buyer is present either by cash (up to £8000) , Bank Transfer
Minimum payment per invoice is £5

Methods of Payment. We suggest to pay by bank transfer please quote name and buying number (see your invoice for details). and book to collect, . Please discuss with our office in advance of the sale if you plan to use other methods of payment

Collection and storage. Please note what the Terms of Sale say about collection and storage. It is important that you pay for and collect goods promptly. Any delay may involve you having to pay storage charges.

The Auctioneers have the right to divide any lot, to combine any two or more lots together or to withdraw any lot or lots from sale, regulate the bidding, refuse bids or cancel the sale without giving any notice or reason whatsoever.

The Auctioneers have the right at their discretion to refuse entry to their premises, attendance or participation at their auctions of any person who has failed with its rules & regulations.

All statements whether printed in the catalogue or made orally are statements of opinion and are not to be taken as being or implying any warranties or representations of fact. All Bidders should rely on their own judgement as to matters affecting any lot.

Persons attending the auction site and premises do so at their own risk. The Auctioneers shall not be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur on the auction site or premises.

Immediately prior to the auction the Bidder shall: give to the Auctioneers his name and address, and, if requested, proof of identity.

At the end of ONLINE / INTERNET BIDDING, the Bidder shall pay full amount on Invoice sent by e-mail, after the auction. Bank Transfer

When Bidder fails completely with these conditions, there shall be issued the invoice with according penalty charges and the Bidder shall be advised to fullfill with payment.
Should the purchaser fail to pay for and remove any lot within seven days following the sale, the Auctioneers shall have the right to re-sell the lot at auction or by private treaty without giving notice to the buyer. Any liability to the buyer shall be limited to the hammer price originally paid.

The buyer shall not rely purely upon the catalogue description but shall satisfy himself or herself as to the physical condition and description of each lot. Buyers are informed if they need a condition report to email or phone Antique 491,
however Antique 491 will not be deemed responsible for restoration repair or damage if not noticed.

we accept Cash and Bank transfer
Any items not collected from the auction house in person will require a payment via bank transfer (call Antique 491 )
Cheques cannot be accepted

Sellers Terms & Conditions

Estimates & Reserves
The estimate on a lot is a guide only and should not be presumed as a guaranteed selling price of a lot. Reserves are at the recommendation on Antique 491 and shall remain confidential from prospective buyers.

Entry/Lotting Fees
£5 per lot will be charged on every lot offered for sale irrespective of value of the lot or whether the lot sells.

Commission
Seller's commission of 20% of the hammer price will be deducted from the proceeds of sale on all sold lots.

Unsold Lots
Any item which fails to sell at auction may be re-offered for sale at the discretion of Antique 491 Auctions subject to revised estimates where appropriate.

Payment
Provided Antique 491 has received payment from the purchaser, proceeds of sale minus all deductions outlined above will be sent to the seller 14 days after the sale date.

Liability
All items left for sale with Antique 491 are insured whilst in our care. Following a successful sale, ownership and liability immediately transfer to the purchaser.

The Auctioneers shall have the right to photograph and illustrate any lot consigned for sale and to use such photographs and digital images at their discretion. The vendor accepts, without further consultation, that a charge of up to £50 per illustrated lot may be made towards the recovery of photographic expenses. This includes images posted to the Auctioneer's website or used for other promotional purposes. The vendor accepts the photographs used in the catalogue will be for the use of the auctioneer and
Antique 491 for their sole company use
We will gladly and willingly pack and send your winning lots to you.

After the end of the auction, see the first invoice that must be paid immediately.
