*** Condition Reports ***

Our catalogue descriptions do not include any information on the condition of the lot and it is up to the purchaser to satisfy themselves as to the condition before bidding. Upon request by email we can give full condition reports on any lot. Any condition report provided is the opinion and Wessex Auction Rooms accept no liability if a purchaser disagrees with a given report after the auction has taken place. All lots are available to view in person.

All grading of vinyl records is subjective and therefore you must satisfy yourself before bidding. The auctioneer will not enter into post-sale disputes based on gradings. If grading for a Lot states "overall" that means that some will be better, some will be worse. Gradings are visual only and offer no playback information. Records are graded sleeve first, vinyl second.

Wessex Auction Rooms do not authenticate any autographs or offer any certificate of authenticity (COA). Any item sold with a COA will be that which has been supplied by the vendor. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to satisfy themselves as to the provenance and authenticity before bidding on any lot. Under no circumstances will refunds be given based on authenticity claims.

*** Payment ***

ALL payments from outside of the UK regardless of amount, must be paid in full via bank transfer.
We are still accepting cash payments. Payment can also be made in person at our offices with debit card or credit card. Where the customer is not present payment can be made by debit or credit card up to a limit of £500 (UK only). Above this all payments must be made by bank transfer or via the 3D secure link on your invoice. We do not accept American Express / AMEX

Shipping:
We are able to offer an in-house postage and packing service for most items. Please click the 'request quote' button when you receive your invoice. By clicking this button you are instructing us to pack your item(s) and inform you of the cost. Should you then decide not to use our shipping service there will be a small cost for the labour and materials.

Where we are unable to offer postage and packing via our in-house team, we work with a number of couriers who will be able to assist.

We have a minimum charge of £10

PLEASE NOTE:

Timescales
We are inundated with many requests for postage and packing on the first few days following an auction. We employ additional staff to help cover this demand but as most of the requests come in over a short period it can take some time to work through them. We aim to dispatch your parcel as soon as possible but in periods of high demand it can take up to three weeks to process.

Damage/Breakages in transit
We insure all parcels for loss but we are UNABLE to insure for damage or breakages during transit.

In most cases we are unable to pack and send framed and glazed items.

If you would like your parcel insured for damage (we would recommend this for delicate items and ceramics) or if you need it in a hurry then we suggest you contact Mailboxes - telephone 01249 446141 or [email protected] – who will be happy to collect from our premises.

We are no longer able to offer shipping to Italy.

Viewing

We offer viewing in person of all Lots on the day prior to auction.

All persons without exception who wish to view our Jewellery, Silver, Watches & Coins auction will be required to provide photo identification. Wessex Auction Rooms reserve the right to refuse the opportunity to view.

Collection of items

Lots shall be paid for in full and taken away from the Auction room by the end of the Auction sale day, or by the Wednesday following the sale day, at the buyers own risk and expense, in default of which the Auctioneers shall not be responsible if the same are lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed. If after 7 days after the conclusion of the sale Lots are not cleared they may then be sold immediately either publicly or by private treaty, without notice being given to the buyer. Storage fees of £2 per Lot per day will be applied after 7 days of the auction date.

As government guidelines are constantly changing please be aware that the above is subject to change at short notice
