Classic Poole & Lalique Glass join Leather Rhino at Wareham Xmas Auction

South Dorsetshire Auctions are solving the problem about what to do in those quiet days between Christmas and New Year by hosting their largest ever Christmas Fine Antiques & Objets de Vertu Auction on Saturday 28th December.

A very large leather rhinoceros footstool, believed to be Victorian according to vendor but could be much newer, in very good order indeed

 Among the stars of the show are a Poole Pottery Centenary Kiln Lamp by renowned ceramicist Guy Sydenham, several items of rare Lalique glass, a quantity of stunning gold jewellery, coinage and banknotes and a large assortment of military items including medals, signal cannons and a journal kept by a Midshipman on HMS Hood.

Auctioneer Mark Croucher said, "Many people find the gap between Christmas and New Year rather boring, so what better way to fill it than by purchasing an antique grandfather clock made in Cerne Abbas, a stuffed Barn Owl and a Basque Makhila walking stick?
